Hi, Everbody!! AIAA Atlanta enjoyed an outstanding dinner meeting on January 31, 2017. We had excellent food & food service, an extremely interesting and timely scientific presentation by Dr. John Bradford of SpaceWorks (SEI) and Dr. Vigor Yang, Chair of the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, announced his candidacy for the position of President of AIAA!! In case you’ve been asking yourself why you should care about voting, now you have the best reason: to support an immensely qualified colleague who wants to lead our Institute and profession into the next age of discovery, innovation and deployment. You can read about Dr. Yang’s three central tenets, Inspire the Future, Explore Transformational Technologies and Champion New Perspectives in the attached flyer. The voting period is from 2/06 – 3/31/2017, so please take a few moments to consider Dr. Yang’s candidacy and vote for him to lead the Institute. You will note that the position of AIAA President has two candidates, so it is vitally important that you vote in this election. And don’t pass up voting for the other positions as well!! You will notice that another Atlanta Section superstar, Dr. Dimitri Mavris, is standing unopposed for the position of Director – Technical, Aircraft and Atmospheric Systems Group. Please cast your vote for Dr. Mavris as a show of support for his immense contributions to AIAA and the aerospace profession. You can find complete candidate statements and the online ballot on aiaa.org .

Thanks &

Cheers,

Aaron Harcrow
